Meet Chloe
Chloe Torrence is a joy enthusiast residing in Pittsburgh, PA. Her time is spent gathering trades and using art to tell stories in any way she can.
This continuous pandemic period has found her managing a 450 seat Amish buffet restaurant in Wilmot, OH and teaching at the Shady Side Academy Country Day School in Fox Chapel, PA. Kids and their genuine curiosity and desire to learn have been a huge inspiration for her artistic journey, and she is very grateful to have returned to teaching.
In 2015, Chloe founded The Actor's Playground, a youth led theatre company in her home town of Berlin, Ohio. Creating this program was so important to Chloe because of the lack of opportunity for group artistic endeavors in her community. Her goal has always been to provide creative outlets for children that weren't available to her as a child. While it began as a small theatre company, it has now developed into a fully-fledged program, as well as a Fairytale Entertainment business. They most recently performed the hidden gem 'Dorothy meets Alice' in September of 2022 at the Ravine Amphitheatre. Chloe graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in spring of 2019 with a degree in Theatre Arts. She spent most of her time in rehearsal rooms, auditions and music classes. She worked on a total of 15 productions in her four years- one of which earned her Outstanding Undergraduate Director. Chloe participated in Women's Chorale Ensemble and was the President of the Pitt Musical Theatre Club.
After graduating, Chloe worked with the Pacific Conservatory Theatre in Santa Maria, CA as an assistant director. While in Santa Maria, she also served as a drama teacher for the Santa Maria- Bonita School District and taught over 800 students (and she misses them a lot!).
Currently, Chloe has been focusing her creativity on art projects, writing, and creating her magical living space. She'll continue to keep her ear to the ground- listening closely for the call of her next great adventure!
